Governance

How the Board Works

Board members are elected by the membership within their respective local Chapters. The Board is responsible for overseeing the Association's mission, approving its annual program, and ensuring that IAHE continues to serve the interests of transportation professionals throughout Illinois.

  • Each local Chapter elects representatives to serve on the State Board.
  • The Board convenes regularly to review Association business, plan the annual conference, and allocate resources including scholarship funds.
  • Officers are selected from among the Board membership to lead day-to-day operations.

The Illinois Association of Highway Engineers operates through a statewide governance structure that connects local chapters with the larger mission of advancing the transportation profession.
